5-3-2 — The most defensive shape in the game.
TIKI-TAKA — Patient possession. Strong vs direct play, weak vs a high press.
GEGENPRESSING — Win it back high up the pitch. Great vs possession, exposed to counters.
WING PLAY — Stretch play with width. Dominant vs narrow, central setups.
CENTRAL PLAY — Overload the middle. Shuts down width and long balls.
ROUTE ONE — Long, direct balls. Cuts through a press, struggles vs possession.
COUNTER-ATTACK — Absorb and break at speed. The answer to a high press.
Every style beats some styles and loses to others - there's no single "best" tactic. Scout your opponent before kickoff and pick your setup accordingly; the right counter is worth a real in-match bonus.
Defensive mentalities trade your own attacking edge for shutting the opponent down. Attacking mentalities open the game up in your favor - but leave you exposed.
Every player hides six attributes under their OVR. A badge appears once a player is strong enough in that area to matter on the pitch - scouting who has what is part of the game.
